This might take awhile to cross off...

Slowly working on my dresser (which was on my 27 things to get done before turning 27 list)...it has a ton of paint to get off but so far my power sander is working through it well. I'm worried about the smaller grooves though. There's plenty of paint sticking to them and even hand sanding isn't really getting rid of it. Something I need to ponder for awhile.

Anyway, I know exactly how I want the finished product to look. I'm going to paint it a black color in a satin finish. I need a little sheen but I can't take glossy paint. Can't find the hardware for the drawer knobs anywhere but they were pretty bad anyway, so I'll have to replace those. I'm thinking these knobs in pink. I'm normally not very into pinks but this is so soft and has a barely pink but still pink quality to it. I want to line the drawers with some sort of paper but I haven't found anything I like yet. And for the top of the desk, a glassybaby in tutu and some fresh peonies. I'm all about the finishing touches.

Very very fine house

One of my favorite past times is to go to craigslist and look at apartments for rent. Mostly for the thrill of a great find. Most of the stuff I find is cleaning looking but alas boring. Others are downright frightening. But it's always that really good find that makes my hours of trolling worth it.

If I ever move to Seattle this is where I'd like to live:

The living room does it for me; the kitchen and the bathroom look fine if nothing special but that living room is where I'd spend all my time lounging when I was going outside to admire the view:

For something more local I'll go with this:

I'm all about the hardwood floors. And that it's in a nice neighborhood and cheap for a one bedroom.

Nice day for a white wedding

Even though I'm a long way away from thinking about getting married, I still gather images of wedding ideas like a magpie collects shiny trinkets.

My wedding favorite image right now:

Eugene O'Neill and his wife Carlotta Monterey. She just looks so, so chic. Love the simple wedding dress, the earrings, her hair...everything. Although I'd want a better marriage than theirs.

Update

I've been a baaaad blogger. I promise not to ignore this blog anymore (unless I'm on vacation, then you are on your own blog)
